"Working at HELP was and forever will be THE BEST experience. They made me fall in love with Mexico! The staff treated me well, the workload was very comfortable, and the different types of classes make a teacher feel very satisfied with their experiences. The Spanish classes, the cultural events, and the activities are very fun to take part in. I met my best friends through this program and I would love to come back in the future, if possible." — Alecsander Piazza, Fall 2021
By offering flexibility to follow the curriculum as needed based on my classes' individual needs, HELP afforded me the opportunity to develop my teaching style and expand my comfort level as a teacher. The bond with my students also allowed me to provide genuine motivation and encouragement to reach their English learning goals. —Adriene Keller, Spring 2021
An experienced teacher, but new to teaching ESL abroad, I was a teacher at HELP for the winter 2023 semester. I taught Kids, Phonics, a teen French class and an adult Starters; all of the students were so enthusiastic and motivated to learn. It made my job easy. The staff at HELP are all very friendly, helpful and supportive & Rachel is absolutely lovely. The other teachers were from all over, which made for an interesting and lively work team. I really enjoyed and appreciated the cultural workshops and field trips put on by the school for the staff. Great experience overall and lots of wonderful memories and new friends. —Katrina Hughes, Winter 2023
“Learning, support, appreciation…and much more!” Help! allowed me to learn and grow in my teaching practice. I taught different levels of students, all of whom showed me the utmost respect and appreciation. What a pleasure it was to teach Mexican students – and to feel supported by Rachel and her wonderful staff! Aside from work, I had happy times with teachers from virtually every continent – visiting other cities, sampling Mexican cuisine, dancing on weekends, and generally having a roaring good time! — Elizabeth Parsan, Fall 2022
The best part about teaching at Help are the students. They are bright, good-mannered and funny and give you the motivation to prepare awesome classes. Besides the students and school experience, the city of Tehuacán offers a wide range of local cultural experiences from markets, fairs, parks, restaurants, pools and transport to other interesting places, giving you the chance to speak Spanish and get to know the culture. — Nevada Bolster, Winter 2021
I did a semester in Help! last year and it was such an amazing experience. All the staff are friendly and helpful and the workload is very manageable and even enjoyable at times. On top of this, Help! take the time to arrange activities for staff like hiking, Spanish classes and pizza parties which means making friends is so easy. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to travel to Mexico on a budget. — Emilia Bland, Winter 2022
